<p>Malta Airport is located in Malta between Gudja and Luqa. It is the only airport in Malta, serving the entire Maltese Archipelago. The airport is three miles southwest from the capital of Valletta. The best way to reach the airport from Valletta is by using the main road towards Marsa until signs clearly indicate the airport turn- off.</p> <p>The airport serves the whole Maltese Archipelago. There are many connections available from Malta Airport as well as to regional cities. Connections from Malta include Bournemouth, Stockholm, Dublin, Bristol, London Gatwick, Glasgow, Berlin and Manchester. Malta Airport is constantly adding more routes.</p> <p>There is one single terminal building at Malta Airport. It can handle a passenger capacity of up to five million per year, or 15:00 hourly. There are two runways, one of which is one of Europe&rsquo;s longest. The airport is currently resurfacing the taxiways and will soon modify them, in a project that is estimated to cost ¬ 9 million.</p> <p>Malta Airport receives flights from many airlines, including Air Malta, EasyJet, Emirates, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Ryanair, Thomas Cook Airlines, Thompson Airways and Vueling Airways. The airport is the chief hub for Air Malta. Many holiday airlines and other airlines fly to Malta Airport.</p> <p>There are often great deals available with numerous airlines providing flights to Malta throughout the year. The most popular routes from the UK and EU include Berlin, Manchester, Glasgow, Bristol, London Gatwick, Dublin, Stockholm and Bournemouth.
